WELCOME! I am honored that you have taken the time to “meet” me. I am Jamie Thompson, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT #1817) in North Carolina. Finding my way into a counseling career was a journey all in itself. Before pursuing counseling, I served active duty in the US Navy for eight years. During that time that I encountered many fellow service members who were struggling to cope or having difficulty maintaining healthy relationships with family members. That is where I discovered my passion for helping people and was inspired to pursue an education and career in Marriage and Family Therapy.
I moved back to Stanly County in 2009 and have been serving our community through individual mental health counseling and marriage counseling since 2014. I have provided therapy services in a variety of settings including: hospitals, intensive in-home services, school counseling, community counseling, and private practice settings.
My first loves are God, my (very large) family and the beautiful mountains of North Carolina. I enjoy tent camping in the spring and fall and love traveling whenever I get the chance.
